Codi Raymond for New Hampshire State Representative
Growing up in a working-class family, I learned early what it means to work hard and fight for what’s right. That experience, combined with my work in legal aid, led me to pursue a law degree so I could advocate for fairness and justice.
I moved to New Hampshire from Colorado over 17 years ago. After putting myself through law school, I met my husband and moved to Claremont where we started a small business together. Running a small business in a small community reinforced my belief that we all share many interests in common, even if we don't agree on every issue.
I've remained committed to serving the community over the years, and currently work at a nonprofit organization in Claremont. These experiences have deepened my understanding of the challenges local families and businesses face.
If elected, I’ll bring my experience as an advocate, small business owner, and community member to fight for the issues that matter most: protecting reproductive rights, creating affordable housing, expanding healthcare access, strengthening public education, and safeguarding our natural resources.
Endorsed by Emily’s List, AFT-NH, NH AFL-CIO, and the NH Teamsters Union, I’m committed to building a future that works for all of us.

ISSUES
Reproductive Freedom
When Roe v. Wade was overturned in 2022, we were left without Constitutional protections for deeply personal reproductive health care decisions like abortion care, contraception, and IVF. These are decisions that should be made by individuals in consultation with qualified medical professionals, not the government.
As we have seen in many other states, this has resulted in needless physical and emotional suffering. While New Hampshire’s current law may seem adequate, there is nothing in place that would prevent more extreme measures from being enacted in the future. We need to pass legislation that ensures that our reproductive rights are continuously protected from extreme and restrictive proposals that interfere with personal medical decisions.
Housing
The current housing crisis is impacting everyone. The dream of home ownership is increasingly unattainable. Employees looking to relocate to New Hampshire for jobs can't find housing. "Empty nesters" looking to downsize are facing a lack of housing. Renters are facing ever continuous rent increases. Landlords are facing growing property taxes. Legislators in Concord must work together to increase access to safe and affordable housing for everyone.
Education
Public education is essential for a functioning democracy. The State of New Hampshire is responsible for providing a fair and equitable education to all students. Holding the State accountable for paying its fair share towards public education will help reduce the tax burden on local governments, and help reduce property taxes for homeowners.
Workers’ Rights
The last time the middle class was truly thriving was when labor unions were strong. For over 50-years, there have been successful efforts to convince workers that they have individual negotiating power that is greater than collective bargaining. That simply isn’t true and corporations know it, otherwise they would not spend millions of dollars a year squashing attempts to unionize. Strong unions and the right to organize are essential to a thriving economy in New Hampshire.
Recreational Marijuana
New Hampshire, the "Live Free or Die" state, is the only state in New England that has not legalized recreational marijuana. This has led to massive losses in potential tax revenue to surrounding states for close to a decade. This inaction and resulting loss of revenue makes no sense. It's time for the state of New Hampshire to utilize this revenue stream to benefit our state.
